POSITION: Assistant Transportation Coordinator T-1a
DEPARTMENT: Transportation
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma/equivalent required, college degree preferred.
2. Demonstrated success with staff/personnel interaction, human relations.
3. School transportation department experience preferred.
4. Experience with transportation/logistics software as well as software packages from Microsoft, Google, etc.
5. Willingness to complete the New Jersey course requirements prescribed for Transportation Supervisors.
6. Ability to perform effectively in oral and written communication in all matters related to district transportation.
7. Ability to communicate with the school community on all matters related to pupil transportation.
8. Thorough geographic knowledge of Cinnaminson Township and surrounding communities.
9. A New Jersey Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
To assist the Transportation Coordinator in the operation of the Transportation Department and provide efficient and daily uninterrupted
bus service to the students of the Cinnaminson Township School District.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Assist with preparing bus routes and assigns pupils to buses. Designates bus stops and routes with regard for safety, efficiency and economy.
2. Assigns drivers to district bus routes and all extra-curricular activities.
3. Assists the department with all daily bus runs, class trips, athletic trips, shuttles, and late loads as needed.
4. Assists the Transportation Coordinator in securing substitute drivers.
5. Assists with keeping schools, drivers and parents informed of all route and stop changes.
6. Assists with the Coordination of bus runs with other districts.
7. Provides feedback to the Transportation Coordinator in the evaluation of driver performance.
8. Assists in the preparation of in-service programs with special emphasis on safety, bus evacuation, bus maintenance and pupil discipline.

9. Assists with the coordination of private school transportation and prepares all required reports including reimbursement to parents.
10. Coordinates transportation for classified students with special needs to other public and private schools throughout the county and state.
11. Assists the Transportation Coordinator in the preparation of all required State and Board of Education reports on pupil transportation.
12. Works closely with vendors to ensure safe and efficient contracted bus routes.
13. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator and/or Superintendent of Schools and/or Business Administrator.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) Month Contract. Salary and benefits determined by recommendation to the
Superintendent. Overtime is not permissible.
