Firm Overview
GC Investment Management LLC provides investment management, valuation, fund accounting, operational and administrative services for direct lending and broadly syndicated loan funds, securitizations and related financings. GC Investment Management LLC is a USVI affiliate of Golub Capital LLC with offices in St. Thomas and St. Croix.
Position Responsibilities
The Assistant Vice President will provide day-to-day support to vertical leads as part of the Credit Monitoring Team. This role will be expected to have valuation experience with exposure to best practice valuation methodologies (e.g., use of publicly traded comparable company data, equity waterfalls, cash flow modeling and debt pricing).
Responsibilities include:
− Working independently and completing tasks including data entry, report creation, meeting support, investment valuations and financial statement analysis
− Monitoring, analyzing and valuing a diverse portfolio of debt and equity investments
− Communicating with deal professionals to obtain knowledge of our borrowers’ businesses and operating performance
− Tracking pending transactions and amendments to credit agreements
− Preparing files for Independent Valuation Firms, including financial statements, due diligence materials and legal documents
− Reviewing monthly valuations prepared by independent valuation firms
− Performing valuations for complex debt and equity investments which require significant judgment, using appropriate methodologies, supportable assumptions and accurate inputs
− Preparing high quality written valuation reports for investments
− Providing guidance and mentorship to analysts
− Assisting vertical leads and credit monitoring management with various valuation tasks and reviews of complex models
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
− Bachelor’s degree required (accounting or finance preferred)
− 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in valuation services, private equity, leveraged finance, venture capital and / or investment banking
− CFA credential is a plus
− Strong quantitative skills
− In-depth understanding of financial statements
− Understanding of legal documents including credit agreements
− Proven problem-solving ability
− Ability to work independently, establish priorities and meet deadlines with limited supervision
− Strong interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills
− Exceptional attention to detail while still being able to multi-task
− Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word
− Highly motivated, hardworking and driven
− Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture
