The AVP, Employee Enablement will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization's Microsoft 365 governance, information architecture, and compliance frameworks. This leadership role will drive enterprise governance strategies, taxonomy standards, and regulatory compliance, ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant collaboration across the digital workplace.

The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Power Platforms, Microsoft 365, and enterprise taxonomy management to establish governance frameworks, support compliance initiatives, and deliver actionable insights through automation & dashboard reporting and analytics.

This role will be based in our Nashville, TN office on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a team responsible for developing and implementing governance strategy for Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform) with strong emphasis on compliance, lifecycle management, and user adoption.
  • Lead the optimization of information architecture, metadata, and taxonomy through the Microsoft 365 Term Store, ensuring content is findable, consistent, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Partner with IT Security, Risk, Legal, and Audit to design and enforce Microsoft Purview policies, including DLP, retention, sensitivity labels, records management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the delivery of Power BI dashboards and reporting frameworks that track governance, compliance, adoption, and lifecycle management across M365 and CRM platforms.
  • Establish and manage governance processes for permissions, access reviews, external sharing, and content lifecycle enforcement.
  • Direct initiatives for content optimization, including site rationalization, ROT cleanup, archival, and hub site provisioning.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of governance workflows (provisioning, access certification, lifecycle enforcement).
  • Partner with business unit stakeholders to embed governance and taxonomy practices into day-to-day collaboration.
  • Oversee and act as the primary point of contact for governance-related escalations, audits, and enterprise reporting.
  • Provide executive-level insights and recommendations that directly influence short- to medium-term (1–3 years) governance strategies.
  • Lead and manage a team, developing and mentoring, ensuring all are successfully meet expected performance standards.

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in IT governance, digital workplace, or compliance leadership.
  • Extensive expertise in Microsoft 365 administration and governance (SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform).
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, records management, sensitivity labels).
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Term Store taxonomy management and metadata-driven content strategy.
  • Strong experience developing Power BI dashboards and reporting frameworks for governance, compliance, and adoption.
  • Background in information architecture, metadata standards, search optimization, and content lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR, SEC/FINRA, insurance industry).
  • Experience collaborating with HR, Legal, Risk, Audit, and cross-functional business partners.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to influence executives and cross-functional leaders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale governance initiatives with enterprise impact.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect / Teams Administrator Expert
  • Salesforce or Dynamics 365 Administrator / Architect (plus)
  • TOGAF, AIIM ECM, or similar enterprise architecture / information management certification
  • Experience with AI governance frameworks and Copilot for Microsoft 365
