Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Engineering

Job Description

The College of Information Technology (CIT) at UAE University seeks a highly qualified faculty member in Computer & AI Engineering, with a strong focus on Drones/UAVs, Robotics and Autonomous Systems. This role will strengthen research programs and launch multidisciplinary initiatives and partnerships within and outside the university, supporting the college's long term stability and growth.

Position Overview

We invite exceptional candidates with a proven research background in Drones/UAVs and Autonomous Systems. Priority areas include UAV guidance, navigation and control (GNC), autonomy stacks (planning, decision making, and control), UAV systems engineering and integration, robust and safe autonomy, multi agent UAV coordination, and real world deployment/validation. The successful applicant will enhance and expand existing research strengths and contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses. Engaging and mentoring students across academic programs will be a key responsibility.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Strong record of publications in leading Q1 journals and top tier conferences within the field.
• Proven success in writing and securing competitive research grants.
• Excellence in teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and interdisciplinary programs.
• Must be able to join UAEU by Fall 2026.

Preferred Qualifications

• High research productivity in the applicable field.
• Industrial and professional experience.
