Job Description
Nevada State University's School of Nursing is seeking a 12-month tenure track faculty starting summer/fall 2026. The dynamic and experienced Assistant/Associate Professor will join our team to lead our newly created online MSN-Leadership Program. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and dedicated faculty member who will contribute to the implementation and success of this program. This is not a remote position. Nevada residency is necessary for success in this role as regular on campus duties are required. Other duties may be assigned according to need.

Primary Responsibilities:-
Curriculum Development: Maintain a comprehensive curriculum for the MSN-Leadership program, ensuring that it is continuously up-to-date and aligned with industry standards and trends.

Teaching and Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction to MSN-Leadership students, including the design and delivery of courses, lectures, and hands-on learning experiences.

Student Support: Provide mentorship, academic advising, and support to students during required weekly office hours, fostering their academic and professional growth.

Research and Scholarship: Engage in scholarly activities, research, and publication in the field of nursing, with a focus on leadership and nursing administration.

Program Leadership: Lead and oversee the administrative aspects of the MSN-Leadership program, including student recruitment, program promotion, program assessment, and accreditation.

Collaboration: Collaborate with other faculty members and departments including service on departmental and college-wide committees. Participate in college-wide events.

Professional Development: Maintain and enhance your professional competence by participating in conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program, both in teaching and in the fostering of a supportive learning environment.

Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:-
Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD) or related discipline, with an MSN from institutions accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education.

Three (3) years of experience in a nursing practice leadership role.

At least one (1) year of experience teaching students online.

Active and unencumbered RN license in Nevada, or eligible to obtain it by endorsement.

Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and working with professional graduate nursing students.

Evidence of teaching excellence in nursing at the college/university level.

Possession of, or eligibility for, an unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Nevada.

Proof of creative activities consistent with a tenure-track faculty rank.
-
Evidence of leadership ability, and ability to act as a resource in helping to develop new nurse leaders.

Commitment to creating an academic environment that supports students while holding them accountable for meeting minimum expectations.

Personal commitment to professional accountability and behaviors.

Commitment to the promotion of Caring Science in every interaction with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.

Highly effective oral communication, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:-
PhD in Nursing.

Certified Nurse Educator (CNE).

Full-time experience teaching nursing at the BSN, or higher, degree level.

Previous experience with higher education nursing curriculum and/or course development.

Previous experience with accreditation (CCNE, CNEA, ACEN, or regional academic agencies).

Experience with technology enhanced online systems.
-
Active participation in professional organizations.

12-month. Tenure track. Budgeted salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
