Assisted Living Med Tech (Assistance with Medications)

Join our dedicated healthcare team as an Assisted Living Medication Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities. In this vital role, you will assist residents with medication management, ensuring safe and accurate administration while providing compassionate care in a supportive environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will make a meaningful difference every day.

Duties

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents following established protocols and medical orders, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards
  • Monitor residents’ vital signs, observe for adverse reactions, and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff or healthcare providers
  • Assist with medication setup, including preparation of oral, topical and inhalation medication adhering to safety procedures and physiology knowledge
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) or EHR (Electronic Health Record) ECP
  • Support residents with daily activities including ADL's, housekeeping, meal prepping, hospice care needs, and dementia or memory care requirements
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure proper medication administration schedules are followed and document all actions meticulously
  • Provide compassionate caregiving support in assisted living environments, home care settings, or senior communities while respecting resident dignity and privacy

Skills

  • Must be certified in Assistance with Medications by an approved program
  • Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with a focus on medication assistance and patient care
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing practices related to medication administration and patient monitoring
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory care needs
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and providing clear instructions to residents and families
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of medical records
  • Must be able to pass a background check through the Dept. of Health and Welfare
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
