JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Field Operations, Accounting, Supply Chain, and Regulatory groups to meet business targets in the development of capital expenditure forecasts, tracking progress of the plan, and implementing those plans across the organization. This individual supports the development of capital budgets, monitors the implementation of those budgets, and reports business results. Also develops reports for key performance indicators around productivity and quality.
This position is an individual contributor role with responsibility for data integrity and reporting support.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collect and maintain data to support capital project and portfolio tracking, bidding processes, benchmarking studies, and ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Provide data and analysis to support infrastructure filings and rate cases.
- Provide support for data requests from various regulatory agencies.
- Schedule and lead meetings with stakeholders.
- Assist with efforts to develop short- and long-term financial forecast updates in a manner consistent with established guidelines and processes.
- Develop, populate, and report out to stakeholders, relevant performance benchmarks and scorecards.
- Coordinate efforts to continually improve timeliness and relevance of financial reporting processes .
- Support analytical evaluations and reporting of year-to-date actual financial performance against historical and budgeted performance.
- Collect and organize data to interpret cost structures and determine impact of project scope changes and sourcing decisions.
- Create reporting to track metrics around work productivity and quality.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the financial systems used by the organization to plan, execute, and report out Delta Utilities’ capital investment performance.
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc statistical reports related to work order management, asset utilization, work management, and various financial and non-financial factors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, statistics, computer science, data science, or data analytics from an accredited college or university
Minimum experience required of the position
- 2 years of experience in utilities, data science, data analytics, financial analysis, business analysis, consulting, compliance support, or a related field
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities preferred of the position
- Experience in Oracle, SAP, or other asset management enterprise software
- Experience with data warehousing tools such as SAP HANA or Google BigQuery
- Experience supporting construction projects
- Experience exploring and visualizing large data sets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop basic metrics, reports, and dashboards
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
