Who Are We:

Attorney Ian Weldon is an accomplished attorney in Jacksonville and the founder of Weldon Law Group, PLLC. He brings over 18 years of legal experience to his private practice, where he assists clients with all types of complex immigration law issues, criminal defense matters, divorce and family law cases, and estate planning and probate proceedings. With every case, Mr. Weldon works tirelessly to help his clients navigate the legal process. Because he went through the immigration process with his wife, who is Peruvian, he is very sympathetic to those navigating this complex and ever-changing system.


Job Summary:

Under the direction of the law firm owner, the associate attorney must have the ability to work effectively as a team member while also handling an individual caseload. The associate attorney must have a strong commitment to achieving excellent results for our clients through intelligent and aggressive advocacy. The associate attorney must also have a strong commitment to advocating for others, exceptional work ethic, high motivation, and willingness to work hard to serve our clients. Positive attitude and ability to work well with a variety of people.

The associate attorney is an Exempt position.


What You’ll do:

  • Manages a large caseload (Estimated between 75 – 100 Cases) of criminal defense and family law.
  • Manage full case handling responsibilities from inception through settlement.
  • Independently handle decision making on a case-by-case basis.
  • Regularly consult with clients and other parties as needed to effectively move cases forward and to settlement.
  • Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Work as part of a team with all levels of experience.
  • Cultivate relationships with the existing firms and future clients.
  • Monthly case reviews.
  • Enter time entries and detailed notes daily into case management system.
  • Foster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisement.


What You’ll Need:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law and be in good standing with the Florida Bar Association.
  • Be bilingual English-Spanish
