Associate Attorney

Riverside, United States

We are a growing boutique law firm specializing in trusts, estates, and probate, seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join our Riverside office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney eager to build a meaningful career in this practice area. No prior experience in probate, trust administration, or estate planning is required as comprehensive training and mentorship are provided.

As an Associate Attorney, you will collaborate closely with a Senior Associate Attorney and a Partner Attorney, gaining invaluable experience and guidance. Over time, you will take on primary responsibility for managing cases independently. Our firm emphasizes a team-oriented approach, ensuring multiple attorneys are involved in each case while you serve as the primary responsible attorney for many of your matters.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position, with the option for hybrid work after the initial training period. As you grow, you will take on independent case management responsibilities and have the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses in addition to your base salary.

Please Note: After applying, you’ll receive a link to complete a brief pre-recorded video interview (under 10 minutes). Resumes will not be reviewed until this step is completed. Please only apply if you’re comfortable recording a short video. We look forward to your application!

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide clear, thoughtful legal advice and guidance to clients with professionalism and empathy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy while gradually taking ownership of your own matters.
  • Manage a caseload that includes Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate, with ongoing support and mentorship from senior attorneys.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and estate planning documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and related proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate effectively with opposing counsel, court staff, and clients.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and licensed in California.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident oral advocacy skills and the ability to appear in court.
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities, able to prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused mindset.
  • A proactive and adaptable team player, eager to learn a new practice area and take initiative.
  • Prior exposure to trusts, estates, or litigation is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Wealth Counsel, Westlaw, or Clio is advantageous.

Training:

During the first six months (or sooner if you quickly master the material), you will shadow the Partner Attorney’s schedule, gaining hands-on experience. Training will take place at both our Tustin and Riverside offices. Optional hybrid days may be available after you have learned the foundational aspects of the position and with approval from the Partner Attorney. This period is designed to provide comprehensive mentorship, hands-on learning, and a strong foundation to confidently manage cases independently.
