Associate Attorney

Our law firm is looking for an Associate Attorney to join our team. The Attorney will work in a team environment providing and implementing various estate planning strategies for our clients, administering trusts and probates, filing guardianship and conservatorships, advising businesses including homeowner’s associations, business succession planning. Most of the work is transactional and there is very little litigation. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping clients, especially helping clients establish sound estate plans. The ideal candidate enjoys learning and enjoys some challenges in determining the best plan for our clients, which are not one size fits all estate planning.

Essential Job Functions for the Associate Attorney will include:

• Meeting with clients.
• Reviewing clients assets, goals, and family dynamics to design, fund, and maintain estate plans.
• Drafting estate plan documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and funding related documents, as well as advanced planning tools including IDGTs, QRPTs, ILITs, SLATs, and LLCs. Full responsibility for the legal production pipeline, from intake to delivery of work to the client and you will need to ensure all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on-time.
• Preparing and reviewing deeds and real property transfer documents.
• Reviewing and summarizing existing estate planning documents, including making the appropriate observation regarding changes in law and family circumstances.
• Supporting business development through leading presentations and thought leadership publications, as necessary.
• Drafting probate court documents including: trust registrations, probate filings, guardianship and conservatorship filings,
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Juris Doctor (JD).
• Licensed to practice law in Colorado.
• 2-3 years legal experience in estate planning, probate, or business law preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of planning techniques.
• Works well with others.
• Can be compassionate, express empathy, and patient with clients. This is not negotiable.

Work Schedule: Daytime and evening hours as needed.

Pay: $81,012.00 - $121,834.00 per year
