Blackburn & Donnelly, LLC is seeking a motivated entry-level Associate Attorney to join our growing practice. This role is ideal for a driven self-starter — someone eager to develop courtroom skills, dive into legal challenges and contribute meaningfully to client success.

We value attorneys who balance confidence with caution: you’re excited to take initiative and advocate for clients, but you also know when to ask questions and seek guidance from senior attorneys.

What You’ll Do

• Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and craft strategies that help us achieve excellent results for clients.
• Drafting & Filings: Prepare motions, pleadings, contracts, appeals and other legal documents with precision.
• Client Collaboration: Meet with clients, understand their goals and provide sound legal counsel.
• Courtroom & Negotiations: Appear in court, handle depositions, and engage in negotiations with professionalism and poise.
• Case Management: Support partners and senior attorneys with scheduling, document organization and matter tracking.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensure: Admission to the Connecticut Bar.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills
• Sound judgment and integrity, even under pressure
• A natural curiosity and desire to learn
• Confidence to take initiative, paired with the wisdom to know when to seek input
• Experience: Prior law firm experience — internships, clerkships, or other hands-on work.
