Associate Attorney

Overview
Established litigation law firm seeks to expand attorney base, seeking associate attorney in Roslyn, New York office. Candidates should have 3+ years of litigation experience in various practice areas. Strong research and motion drafting skills along with a working knowledge of New York Court rules and procedures and CPLR. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office and Lexis Nexis and be able to work independently.

Candidates should have experience in document organization and review for discovery and trial phases of litigation. Prior experience in Appellate Term, Division and New York State Court of Appeals helpful. Prior experience handling Depositions as well as Court hearing and arguments helpful. Will consider part-time position. Salary $120,000-$125,000 full time. Experienced attorney available at firm to assist and guide.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
• Advise clients on business and legal transactions
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
• Comply with all legal standards and regulations
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

​​Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York and previous experience in practicing law in New York
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in using electronic court filing systems at the city, state and federal levels
• Proficient in Lexis Nexis, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
