Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. While this position will support the firm’s general civil litigation practice, the primary focus will be on family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is eager to gain courtroom experience, work closely with clients, and develop as a litigator in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of family law and general civil litigation matters from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other court documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
  • Provide counsel and guidance to clients regarding their rights, obligations, and options.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and trial preparation.
  • Maintain accurate case files, billing records, and meet all court and filing deadlines.
  • Engage in business development and networking opportunities to grow the family law practice.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
  • 0–3 years of litigation experience preferred; family law experience a strong plus.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with competing deadlines.
  • Compassionate and professional client service skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, organization, and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
