Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our medical malpractice defense litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tort law and civil procedure, and have strong writing, and research skills. This role requires excellent legal drafting skills, the ability to conduct thorough research, and a passion for litigating cases effectively. The Associate Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys to provide necessary tutelage in both legal and medical issues foundational to our defenses.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues pertaining to client cases.
  • Draft legal documents including motions, briefs, and pleadings with precision and clarity.
  • Assist in litigation processes by preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their legal needs and provide sound advice based on applicable laws.
  • Stay updated on changes in state and federal laws and regulations relevant to civil litigation practice areas.
  • Participate in client meetings and represent clients in court as necessary.
  • Support senior attorneys in case management and strategy development.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of various areas of law including torts and civil procedure.
  • Excellent writing skills with a focus on legal drafting and documentation.
  • Proficient in conducting comprehensive legal research using various resources.
  • Ability to effectively litigate cases and represent clients in court settings.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Must have a valid Kentucky Law License. Ideal candidates maybe newly licensed attorneys and/or candidates with up to 5 years’ experience. Starting salary is $75,000.00 per year or commiserate with experience.
