Associate attorney

Job Summary
Associate Attorney sought by established law practice, focusing on Maryland District Court level litigation in Montgomery County, PG County, Frederick County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore City. A viable candidate will have some experience with small & large claims matters and some Landlord & Tenant case work or other exposure to District Court matters as a prosecutor (Assistant States Attorney) or Public Defender. This job offers significant time in court, top tier case management technology, supportive senior attorneys and paralegals, and autonomy. With the exception of time spent in court, the job is fully remote. Candidate must have their own vehicle (firm reimburses for mileage at the IRS published rate).

Responsibilities

• Litigate small and large claim cases in Maryland District Courts.
• Draft and argue motions, advise clients, prepare and present legal seminars for clients and their staff.
• Represent clients in litigation matters including contract disputes, landlord-tenant cases, and defend statutory claims.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases and contribute to case strategy development.

Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Maryland bar.
• Some prior experience in litigation is a mandatory. Candidate must know how to try a case in front of a judge and know the Rules of Evidence.
• Familiarity with various areas of law such as litigation, landlord-tenant law, and criminal law is highly desirable.
• Punctuality and excellent communication are essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
