Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various areas of law, including but not limited to estate planning, criminal, and family law. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to draft legal documents effectively. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients and senior attorneys to provide comprehensive legal services and support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and attention to detail.
- Assist in the negotiation of settlements and agreements on behalf of clients across various legal disciplines.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations as needed.
- Provide legal advice to clients on matters related to landlord-tenant law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, securities law, patent law, tribal law & regulations, and more.
- Collaborate with senior attorney on case strategy and participate in client meetings to understand their needs and objectives.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date within the law office’s systems.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients’ cases.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong understanding of estate planning, criminal cases, and family law, litigation practices, and other relevant areas of practice.
- Proficient in legal research with Westlaw.
- Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting required.
- Prior experience in a law office setting is preferred; legal administrative experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically about complex legal issues.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven ability to advocate for clients effectively.
