Associate Attorney

Job Overview
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This is a perfect position for a new or newish attorney who wants to gain lots of courtroom experience (Including jury trials). Nice apartment in historic building (same building where office is located and principle resides (different floor)) included for first 12 months, with possibility to extend. There is the potential for part-time remote after 90 days. Must be coachable, relatively easygoing, and able to work in an often busy work environment.

Duties

• Think and problem solve on your feet.
• Handle cases in the areas of civil and criminal law.
• Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Negotiate when appropriate.
• Learn to successfully navigate litigation processes from initial filing through trial preparation.
• Maintain organized case files and documentation within the law office.
• Collaborate with senior attorney to develop case strategies and ensure comprehensive client representation.
• Stay updated on changes in statutes and case law.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Oregon State Bar.
• Proficient with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple cases efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
