Associate Attorney

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in criminal law (prior public defenders or prosecutors, for example). This role requires excellent negotiation and litigation skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to draft legal documents and emails effectively. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients, providing legal advice and representation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Duties

• Attend court hearings on Zoom or in person in the 4-5 counties in the 20th Judicial Circuit
• Provide legal counsel to clients facing criminal charges.
• Conduct thorough legal research with Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy.
• Draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and motions with precision and clarity.
• Represent clients in negotiations and litigation proceedings as necessary.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases to develop effective strategies for client representation.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress within the law office.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of criminal law.
• Proven experience in criminal trials and negotiation is preferred.
• Excellent writing skills with a focus on legal drafting.
• Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research databases such as Westlaw.
• Reliable means of transportation to attend all in person court hearings

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
