Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive legal support across a diverse range of practice areas, including family law and civil litigation. Your expertise will help guide clients through complex legal matters while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Duties
- Handle a range of civil litigation and family law matters, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and court appearances.
- Conduct legal research, analyze evidence, and develop case strategies for both civil disputes and family law issues such as divorce, custody, support, and domestic violence.
- Draft legal documents including petitions, responses, declarations, settlement agreements, and discovery responses.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, and court personnel while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
- Manage case files, meet deadlines, and ensure compliance with procedural rules throughout the litigation and family law process.
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and legal analysis.
- Assist attorneys in managing cases across various practice areas by organizing case files and tracking deadlines.
- Support client consultations by preparing case summaries and legal opinions tailored to individual needs.
- Participate in negotiations with opposing counsel to facilitate favorable resolutions for clients.
- Prepare for litigation by gathering evidence, drafting discovery requests, and coordinating depositions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments
- Utilize legal research tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw efficiently to enhance case strategies.
- Collaborate with the team on administrative tasks related to the law office’s operations to ensure smooth workflow.
Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Admission to the state bar or eligibility for admission is essential.
- Prior experience in a law office setting or internship experience demonstrating familiarity with legal research and drafting is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to handle multiple cases across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, family law, environmental law, or securities law is advantageous.
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms are necessary for success in this role.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce well-organized legal documents promptly.
- Experience in negotiation and client communication will be considered a plus.
- Familiarity with legal administrative processes and procedures enhances effectiveness in this position. Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
