Associate Attorney

Acosta & Associates, P.A. is seeking a dynamic full-time associate with 0-3 years of experience to assist in the handling of first and third-party civil insurance defense cases. Associates are assigned their own files to be worked on with the Managing Partner. They will be involved in hearings, depositions, mediation, and generally getting the file prepared for settlement or trial. Associates will have the opportunity to become partners within 5 years! We are a boutique insurance defense firm specializing in innovative results-oriented litigation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for negotiations and proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of Managing Partner.
• Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
• Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
• Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the Florida Bar and in good standing.

*Exact salary will depend on level of experience and will increase based on performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $125,000.00 per year
