Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney

About the Role
A well-established and rapidly growing workers’ compensation defense practice with a strong presence across California is seeking an attorney to join its team. The organization is recognized for its positive workplace culture and commitment to employee development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in workers’ compensation proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze complex issues, and draft legal documents.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and related legal events.
  • Negotiate settlements in clients’ best interests.
  • Manage caseload efficiently while adhering to established procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex legal issues.
  • Proactive, client-focused, and comfortable with technology.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer.
  • Sufficient dexterity to operate a keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Ability to read printed materials and view computer screens.
  • Clear verbal communication in person and by phone.
  • Ability to move within an office environment and operate office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to travel to court when required.

Location Options

  • Remote (California residents only), or
  • In-office: Agoura Hills, Oxnard, Encino, Inland Empire, Long Beach, Orange County, Sacramento, San Diego.

Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a competitive compensation package, multiple bonus opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits suite including medical, vision, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and optional voluntary dental coverage. Employer-paid Bar dues, CLEs, and additional incentives are also included.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
