Our firm is seeking to hire a full-time associate attorney to join our expanding team. Ideal candidates would possess 0-3 years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defense. A candidate should be familiar with handling civil cases from beginning to end, preparing for and taking depositions, drafting and arguing motions, attending hearings and trials, possess strong research skills, have experience with varied aspects of legal writings, and be able to move and manage assigned files. This position will have the opportunity to work directly with and learn from a team of senior associates and Partners. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly alongside the Partner with clients to analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients of potential outcomes, and determine and execute the best and most effective strategy and/or solution for client’s best interest
  • Communicate with the Partner, other attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and clients to ensure cases are handled in the most efficient manner possible
  • Conduct client meetings to obtain vital information to assist in preparation of drafting Answers, discovery responses, and other pleadings
  • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, discovery, settlement agreements and perform legal research when appropriate
  • Prepare for and conduct both bench and jury trials, attend hearings, attend and take depositions, and prepare for and participate in other legal proceedings as necessary, such as oral arguments, mediation, arbitration, etc.
  • Delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants when appropriate and monitor their progress and performance

Qualifications and Licensing:

  • Georgia Bar required
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
  • Litigation experience, preferred but not required
  • Insurance Defense experience, preferred but not required
  • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills

About Our Firm:

Jones & Palmer, LLC is a Marietta, Georgia based law firm that currently has 6 attorneys and a strong group of support staff. The majority of the attorneys worked together for several years at a different firm, and the team transitioned to open Jones & Palmer, LLC effective August 1, 2023. Our firm focuses on business, construction and commercial litigation as well as insurance defense. Our website is currently being updated and will be complete later in December 2025.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
