Associate Attorney

A nationally respected litigation practice is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of insurance defense experience to join its Fort Lauderdale office. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, gain substantial hands-on litigation experience, and grow within a dynamic, trial-focused team known for its excellence.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the Florida Insurance Defense group, you will handle a wide range of matters, including:

• General civil litigation and insurance defense
• Construction defect cases
• Premises liability
• Transportation and trucking defense
• Professional liability
• Catastrophic injury claims

Your responsibilities will include:

• Drafting pleadings, discovery responses, and dispositive motions
• Taking and defending fact and expert depositions
• Managing discovery and contributing to case strategy
• Appearing at hearings, mediations, and pre-trial conferences
• Communicating directly with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel
• Assisting with trial preparation and participating in trial when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Active Florida Bar license (required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance defense and general civil litigation
• Background in construction defect, premises liability, or professional liability is a plus
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Demonstrated ability to independently handle discovery, depositions, and motion practice
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication abilities
• A proactive, team-oriented, and client-focused approach

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
