Job Description:
The Associate Attorney will work closely with the Managing Attorney and firm staff to support clients primarily in the areas of estate planning and probate/estate administration. This role requires the ability to manage cases independently, communicate effectively with clients and team members, and contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling probate and estate administration matters from start to finish
- Drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents under the guidance of the Managing Attorney
- Assisting with trust administration and Medicaid planning
- Supervising and collaborating with paralegals and support staff
- Conducting legal research and analysis
- Communicating with clients and third parties professionally and promptly
- Managing deadlines and prioritizing workload efficiently
- Handling court appearances, drafting court documents, and communicating with the court as needed
- Meeting with clients directly on estate planning, probate, administration, and other matters on a regular basis
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active member of the New York State Bar in good standing
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is a plus, but not required
- 1–5 years of experience (preference given to candidates with experience in firm’s practice areas)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and grow under the mentorship of the Managing Attorney
- Experience or interest in real estate law and tax law/planning is a plus
- Positive attitude and positive mindset
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $50,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience (open to further discussion based on qualifications)
