Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a diverse range of legal practice areas, including labor and employment law (including public employment law), civil litigation, criminal defense, administrative law, and workers compensation. As an Associate Attorney, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive legal support, conducting in-depth research, drafting documents, and assisting with litigation processes. Your proactive approach and strong legal acumen will contribute significantly to delivering exceptional service to our clients and upholding the highest standards of legal integrity. This paid position is ideal for motivated legal professionals eager to develop their expertise across multiple practice areas within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case preparation and strategic decision-making.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and mediations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance and effective representation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies and provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal processes and provide updates on case status.
  • Support attorneys and or independently prepare for hearings, trials, negotiations, and client meetings by organizing case files and summarizing key information.
  • Participate in negotiations with clients, opposing counsel, to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining professionalism and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of case activities and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to develop strategies for litigation or transactional matters while adhering to deadlines.

Requirements

  • License to Practice Law in State of New Jersey
  • Strong knowledge of Superior Court, Appellate Division, and Office of Administrative Law procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
  • Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
