Associate Attorney

Job Overview
We are seeking an associate attorney to join our team of insurance defense litigators. The ideal candidate will have a passion for litigation and a strong desire to develop his/her skills under the guidance of experienced trial attorneys. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in evaluating claims, taking depositions, attending hearings, conducting settlement negotiations, mediating cases, interacting with clients and assisting with trial preparation.

Duties

• Drafting pleadings, discovery responses and motions
• Client communication and reporting
• Conducting depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations and court hearings
• Legal research
• Assisting with trial preparation

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the State of Texas.
• Strong interest in civil litigation.
• Proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
• Excellent legal writing skills and ability to draft clear and effective legal documents.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
