About Us

We are a small, client‑focused law firm in Hicksville, Long Island, handling Wills, Trusts, Estates, and Real Estate transactions. We are seeking a full‑time Associate Attorney who is motivated, detail‑oriented, and interested in building a long‑term practice in these areas.

This role is ideal for:

  • A newly admitted attorney looking for hands‑on training, or
  • An attorney with 1–3 years of experience seeking a more client‑focused environment.

You will work closely with the partners on estate planning, Surrogate’s Court matters, estate tax considerations, and residential real estate closings. We provide mentorship, structured training, and the opportunity to grow into a trusted advisor for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to gather information and discuss estate planning goals
  • Draft Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, and related documents
  • Prepare and file probate and administration petitions in Surrogate’s Court
  • Assist with Medicaid planning, including applications, asset reviews, and trust planning
  • Address estate and gift tax considerations, including basic tax analysis and preparation of supporting schedules
  • Handle residential real estate transactions, including contract review and closing preparation
  • Communicate with clients, financial institutions, title companies, and court personnel
  • Maintain organized case files and track deadlines
  • Provide compassionate, clear guidance to clients during sensitive life events

Qualifications

Required:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in New York (or pending admission)
  • Strong writing, drafting, and organizational skills
  • Professional communication and client‑interaction skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and follow through on tasks
  • Interest in Trusts & Estates, Elder Law, and Real Estate

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience with Surrogate’s Court filings
  • Exposure to estate or gift tax concepts
  • Real estate closing experience
  • Comfort with Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, Excel, and basic office technology

Compensation

  • Salary: $70,000–$90,000, based on experience
  • Opportunities for growth as skills and responsibilities expand
