Associate Attorney

Chicago Loop law firm focusing on the representation of condominium and homeowners associations seeking an associate attorney to handle corporate governance and transactional work, as well as some assessment collection and other litigation.

Corporate governance and transactional work includes, but is not limited to, review, analysis and drafting of governing documents, preparation of legal opinions, review and drafting of various types of contracts, guidance regarding fair housing compliance, preparation of correspondence relating to covenant and rule enforcement issues, and attending client meetings.

Collection and litigation work includes, but is not limited to, handling eviction court calls, motion practice, discovery, trials, and administrative building code hearings. Position requires limited travel for in-person court appearances in various Cook and collar county locations.

Illinois license required, some courtroom experience preferred. Superior writing ability is essential for this role. The successful candidate will independently handle multiple concurrent projects and work closely with fellow associate attorneys, paralegal and legal assistant staff. Accordingly, the candidate must be reliable, attentive to detail, and have the organizational skills necessary to track and complete numerous active projects. The position requires frequent communication (both in writing and orally) with client representatives, opposing counsel, and litigants, and thus the successful candidate should possess a high level of interpersonal skills.

A minimum of two (2) days in the Loop office is required, with the remainder of time worked remotely (at home) if preferred.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
