Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Job Overview
Our firm is a boutique civil litigation law firm located in Albany, New York, with a practice concentrated in Plaintiff's personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. We are seeking an Associate Attorney with a strong interest in trial work to join our team. This position is ideal for an attorney who wants meaningful courtroom exposure, hands-on responsibility, and the opportunity to develop into a confident trial attorney. Associates work directly with experienced litigators and are actively involved in all stages of litigation, from intake through verdict.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury and medical malpractice cases from inception through trial
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motions
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Appear regularly in court for conferences, hearings, and oral arguments
• Participate in jury selection, witness preparation, and trial presentation
• Assist with trial strategy, case valuation, and settlement negotiations
• Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in New York State
• 0-5 years of civil litigation experience preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
• Prior experience with personal injury or medical malpractice matters is a plus, but not required

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
