Associate Attorney - Commercial Litigation

Cullen and Dykman LLP seeks an experienced associate to join our Commercial Litigation group in Albany. The role offers immediate responsibility, client contact, and courtroom experience.

What you’ll do:

• Manage cases from investigation through resolution, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trials.
• Draft pleadings, dispositive and discovery motions, and appellate briefs.
• Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with partners and clients; oversee discovery and e-discovery.
• Communicate directly with clients, experts, co-counsel, and opposing counsel; participate in settlement negotiations.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members and collaborate with staff.

What we’re looking for:

• JD and admission to the New York Bar (in good standing).
• 4+ years of commercial litigation experience in New York state and/or federal courts.
• Strong brief writing, research, and oral advocacy skills; comfort taking/defending depositions and appearing in court.
• Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Team-oriented mindset with professionalism and client-service focus.

Location and work model:

• Albany, NY. Hybrid work may be considered consistent with client, court, and team needs.

Compensation and benefits:

• We offer a competitive salary, an excellent benefits package and a collaborative, friendly environment. The salary range for this role is $135,000-$150,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience. Email resume and salary requirements.
