Associate Attorney – Expunction & Nondisclosure (Texas)

MyCaseCleared is a legal-services support company that provides administrative and technology tools used by independently licensed attorneys. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice or legal representation.

We are seeking a Texas-licensed attorney interested in handling criminal record expunctions and orders of nondisclosure through their own independent practice, using MyCaseCleared’s administrative and case-management infrastructure.

This opportunity is well-suited for attorneys early in their careers who want a predictable, statute-driven practice area without the unpredictability of traditional criminal defense work.

Position Summary

The attorney will provide legal representation directly to clients under Texas law. MyCaseCleared supplies non-legal administrative support such as intake organization, document preparation support, and workflow management.

The attorney retains full discretion over case acceptance, legal judgment, filings, and client communications.

Responsibilities

• Handle expunction and orders of nondisclosure matters under Texas law
• Review criminal history records and confirm statutory eligibility
• Review, revise, and file petitions, motions, and supporting documentation
• Ensure filings comply with applicable statutes, court rules, and local procedures
• Communicate with clients regarding case status and procedural matters
• Coordinate with clerks, prosecutors, and relevant agencies as needed
• Appear at hearings when required (many matters resolve without hearings)

Support Provided

MyCaseCleared provides non-legal administrative support, including:

• Structured client intake and record organization
• Draft document templates and standardized workflows
• Case tracking, deadline reminders, and document management
• Administrative coordination related to filings and follow-ups

This role emphasizes accuracy, consistency, and steady improvement, not speed alone.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Texas (or bar-pending with expected admission)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage repeatable statutory work with consistency
• Interest in criminal justice, post-conviction relief, or statutory practice
• Prior criminal or post-conviction experience helpful but not required

Compensation & Work Structure

• Independent contractor / independent practice arrangement
• Legal fees are set and collected by the attorney or their firm
• MyCaseCleared charges a separate flat vendor fee for administrative services
• Predictable workload in a narrow practice area
• Opportunity for long-term, repeat engagement
