ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – HEALTHCARE LAW AND BILLING DEFENSE

Position Overview:
The Associate Attorney will work directly with partners and clients on matters involving healthcare billing defense, settlement negotiations, compliance issues, and state and federal regulatory research. The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent healthcare payers in billing audits, overpayment disputes, and payer investigations.
- Conduct and lead settlement negotiations with government agencies, medical providers, collection agencies, and opposing counsel.
- Perform complex research and analysis of federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and administrative rules.
- Draft legal memoranda, position statements, correspondence, and settlement proposals.
- Assist with compliance counseling, including policy development and risk assessments.
- Manage caseload with a high level of independence while maintaining communication with supervising attorneys.
- Interact professionally with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio or eligible for admission.
- Experience in healthcare law and/or billing dispute resolution a plus
- Desire to excel in the area of healthcare billing defense
- Understand and navigate state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate settlements and communicate effectively.
- Highly motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
