The Law Office of Carolina C. Gomez is an established immigration law firm in Los Angeles, founded in 2012. Our firm represents clients in family-based immigration, defensive immigration (EOIR), appellate litigation (Federal District Court, BIA, and Ninth Circuit), and related criminal defense, post-conviction relief, and family/probate law matters.

We are a supportive, team-oriented, and fast-paced firm where attorneys receive direct mentorship and hands-on training.

Position Summary

We are hiring a Full-Time Associate Attorney with 0–4 years of experience. Newly admitted California attorneys are encouraged to apply.

This role offers immediate exposure to immigration court hearings, USCIS interviews, criminal court proceedings, and opportunities to work on appellate cases and family/probate matters.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients at USCIS interviews, EOIR hearings, and criminal court appearances
• Prepare and draft motions, briefs, research memos, and appellate filings
• Work on post-conviction relief and criminal-immigration crossover cases
• Assist with family law and probate matters, including custody, guardianship, and SIJS-related filings
• Maintain accurate case notes, update case statuses, and manage deadlines
• Collaborate with the managing attorney and legal team on case strategy

Qualifications

• California State Bar License (Required)
• 0–4 years attorney experience; newly barred attorneys welcome
• Strong legal research, legal writing, and courtroom communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume environment
• Spanish language proficiency preferred
