Our firm is growing, and we are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to develop hands-on litigation experience while working in a supportive, professional environment.
Position Overview
The Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of litigation tasks related to consumer and commercial debt collection. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a high-volume caseload while maintaining professionalism and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in Iowa state courts and manage a portfolio of litigation files
- Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
- Review client accounts, documentation, and evidence for accuracy and legal sufficiency
- Prepare and present cases at hearings, trials, and other court proceedings
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and internal legal support teams
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, rules, and ethical standards related to debt collection and litigation
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Active Iowa law license required
- Active license in other states is preferred (NE, MO, KS, TX, CO, OK)
- 0–5 years of legal experience (new attorneys encouraged to apply)
- Licenses in additional states preferred but not required
- Experience in litigation, collections, or creditor-rights law is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and a high-volume caseload
- Professional demeanor and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
