Job Summary:
Attorney will assist firm in developing office and state practice in North Carolina and overseeing collection litigation for the states. Candidates must have substantial experience in the courtroom, in the area of creditors’ rights and consumer laws (both state and federal), in drafting forms and in performing legal research. Administrative responsibilities will include preparing forms and developing processes. Attorney will also have full litigation responsibilities including review of correspondence, review of files to determine whether they are suit appropriate, review and/or approval of all pleadings, motions and discovery, and attending all types of hearings and trials. Additionally, candidates should be knowledgeable in post judgment remedies including attachment and garnishment. Attorney will be responsible for managing high-volume docket of civil litigation cases in the area of debt-collection through all phases of litigation from commencement through post-judgment actions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Must have bar admission in North Carolina. Preference will be given to attorneys who are licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

Education and Experience:
Required:

A Juris Doctor law degree

Must have Bar admission in North Carolina. Preference will be given to attorneys who are licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

3 to 5 years of experience as a general litigation attorney
Preferred:
- Experience in creditor’s rights litigation
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects.

Regularly required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.

Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Work Environment:
The position is primarily a remote position.
Schedule:
8-hour shift Monday to Friday with flexibility to support business needs.

$80,000 to $90,000 per year
