BAZ Consultants is inviting applications for the position of Associate Consultant to support the execution of advisory assignments across management consulting, financial advisory, private sector development, SME finance, strategy, and innovative finance.
This is a core delivery role.
We're seeking a strong mid-level professional who can contribute to the substance of our work and support project delivery with discipline, structure, and sound judgment. The selected candidate will work closely with senior leadership on assignments involving financial institutions, private-sector clients, development partners, and public-sector stakeholders.
Whom are we looking for
- A professional with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience
- Someone with strong consulting discipline and analytical ability
- A candidate who can work across research, analysis, client deliverables, and project execution
- A person who can take ownership of tasks and produce high-quality outputs under tight deadlines
Core responsibilities
- Support the delivery of consulting and advisory assignments from start to finish
- Conduct market research, sector analysis, institutional review, and policy assessment
- Support financial analysis, business case development, and review of financial and operational data
- Prepare strong first drafts of reports, concept notes, presentations, briefing papers, and proposals
- Contribute to assignments in SME finance, access to finance, blended finance, credit guarantees, Islamic finance, and private sector development
- Support the development of technical proposals, expressions of interest, and business development submissions
- Participate in client meetings and stakeholder consultations, and convert discussions into clear action points
- Track timelines, deliverables, and inputs from internal and external team members
- Review documents for logic, consistency, quality, and presentation
- Support workshops, interviews, missions, and stakeholder engagement processes where required
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, accounting, management, public policy, development studies, or a related field
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in management consulting, financial advisory, banking, development consulting, corporate finance, or project delivery
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Good understanding of financial statements, business models, project economics, and institutional analysis
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience in donor-funded assignments, financial sector work, SME development, or advisory services will be an advantage
