As an Associate Copy Editor at Concordia Publishing House, you'll serve as a vital qualitycontrol partner in the creation of books and resources that support the Church's mission. What You'll Do

You'll ensure highquality publications through careful editing and proofreading:

• Edit and proofread developed manuscripts for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy
• Ensure content follows CPH house style and The Chicago Manual of Style
• Verify facts, sources, and copyright information for quotes and references
• Collaborate with developmental editors on substantive edits
• Write or revise copy when requested
• Review final pages for typographical and layout issues
• Meet deadlines while staying within project budgets
• Serve as a resource for house style and language usage when needed

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a thoughtful, detailoriented editor who values both accuracy and mission:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, theology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of editing experience
• Strong command of English grammar and usage
• Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign
• Excellent organizational and deadlinemanagement skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly in writing
• Knowledge of LCMS theology and culture (preferred)
