Description:

Kendall Automotive Group is looking for a business-minded attorney to handle a wide range of legal matters. Your responsibilities will include deficiency litigation, drafting responses to consumer inquiries, research relating to human resources and regulatory compliance and assisting the General Counsel with other tasks as assigned in the areas of day-to-day transactional law and regulatory compliance needs. Our Legal Department is a dynamic working environment managing litigation matters and a broad swath of legal questions facing our dealerships in five states. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented multi-tasker with a strong work ethic, who can prioritize tasks and demonstrate good time management. This position, based in Kendall’s Meridian, Idaho, office, is NOT remote and is full-time during regular business hours.

Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in the Idaho bar with an absence of negative disciplinary history concerning candidate’s law license(s). Active bar membership in good standing in Oregon, Washington and/or Montana a plus. Ability to be licensed in Oregon, Washington and Montana via waiver based on 5 years of active practice or transfer of a UBE score obtained within the past 5 years strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years as a licensed practicing attorney in good standing a must; automotive industry experience a plus.
  • Experience researching, advising and developing expertise on regulatory matters.
  • Ability and willingness to work on a variety of legal matters in both litigation and transactional practice areas.
  • Ability to investigate, research, and prepare responses to demand letters from individuals, regulatory authorities, and opposing counsel.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and document detailed legal research and synthesize advice into concise summaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, as well as business judgment and ability to assess risk.
  • Excellent drafting, legal research and writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent personal computer skills.
  • Local candidates preferred
