Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Counselor / Social Worker / License Pending to join our dynamic mental health and social services team. Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document client histories and presenting issues
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions as indicated incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety during emergencies
- Support clients with mental health challenges related to PTSD, grief, addiction, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and chronic pain through specialized counseling approaches
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive case management plans that address medical records, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology considerations
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records following HIPAA guidelines and CPT coding standards
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or holding a valid license in social work or counseling; license pending candidates are encouraged to apply with relevant educational background
- Demonstrated experience or training in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology, or applied behavior analysis
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic purposes
- Experience working with vulnerable children, individuals
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, behavior management, patient assessment, and case management strategies
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security
- Ability to work effectively in outpatient or inpatient settings across clinics or hospital environments; telehealth experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for supporting diverse populations through compassionate care
