Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced associate general dentist at our modern privately owned non-DSO dental practice in Bucktown (3 days a week). The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient centered dental care. This role is designed to ensure continuity of care, maintain clinical and operational standards, and support ongoing practice growth.
This position offers an opportunity to transition into a long-term part-time associate role following the temporary period, contingent upon the associate’s ability to maintain or contribute to business growth, patient satisfaction, and team collaboration. We are seeking a skilled dentist with strong communication skills, outstanding chair-side manners, who can work independently.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including oral examinations and medical history reviews.
- Consistently perform general dentistry procedures at high standards: such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and prosthodontics with precision and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Utilize dental imaging equipment and interpret results to diagnose conditions accurately.
- Implement infection control procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain sterilization standards.
- Collaborate with the dental team on patient care strategies, including patient education on oral health and preventive care.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly within electronic health records such as OpenDental.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical notes and adhere to current standards of care.
- Maintain current knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and industry best practices through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois dental license
- DDS/DMD from an accredited US dental school
- Malpractice insurance
- Experience in general dentistry with additional expertise in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, or medical imaging is desirable.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, and other complex procedures with aseptic technique.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to patient assessment and treatment planning.
