Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Dentist specialized in Operating Room procedures for Adults with Special Healthcare needsto join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental care within a surgical setting, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and clinical excellence. Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of dental procedures in the operating room, including dental extractions, dental restorations and oral surgeries with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop individualized treatment plans aligned with best practices and infection control protocols.
  • Utilize dental imaging techniques and anatomical knowledge to accurately diagnose conditions and plan surgical interventions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards to maintain a sterile environment during all procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including anesthesiologists and surgical staff, to coordinate patient care effectively within the surgical setting.
  • Maintain precise medical documentation using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Open Dental or similar platforms while complying with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on post-operative care instructions, medication usage, and follow-up procedures to promote optimal recovery outcomes.

Skills

  • Proven experience in general dentistry with experience in oral surgery within an operating room setting.
  • Proficiency with dental software systems such as Epic, Open Dental for documentation and medical records management.
  • Expertise in performing dental extractions, dental restorations and surgical procedures and other advanced dental treatments.
  • Excellent patient care skills with an emphasis on patient assessment, communication, and education.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing four-handed dentistry to optimize patient flow and comfort.
