Associate Design Engineer - Magnetics (Hybrid)

Position Summary :

As an Associate Design Engineer - Magnetics at Bel, you will contribute to the development of advanced LAN magnetic solutions that enable next-generation Ethernet connectivity. In this role, you will design, document, and introduce Ethernet magnetic components that comply with IEEE 802.3 standards and meet demanding customer system-level performance requirements. You will collaborate closely with PCB designers and cross-functional teams to optimize product layouts, validate new concepts through simulation, and support the continuous improvement of existing designs. This position offers the opportunity to interface with global R&D teams and contribute to the delivery of high-performance networking solutions.

Are You Looking to:

  • Oversee the design, development, documentation, and introduction of Ethernet magnetic designs
  • Develop new design concepts and validate feasibility using simulation software
  • Prepare test specifications, test procedures, and develop test fixtures
  • Work with lab and manufacturing personnel to understand the impact the assembly process has on product performance
  • Interface with the Far East R&D team to ensure design objectives are well-defined and understood
  • Support sales and product management teams by providing technical support for current and potential customers

Are You Ready to:

  • In conjunction with a PCB designer, develop optimum PCB layout for performance and fabrication
  • Support current engineering of existing designs, recommending improvements
  • Understand the testing instructions for proper use of vector network analyzers and LCR test equipment
  • Assist quality team in performing failure mode analysis
  • Travel up to 10% of the time to customers and IC houses

Job Requirements:

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or materials science, or a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in magnetic design
  • Experience in magnetic design and Ethernet magnetic manufacturing processes preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with simulation and test equipment
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
