Associate Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Associate Director to lead key initiatives within our organization, driving excellence in educational programming, operational management, and leadership development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our programs through innovative curriculum development, effective fundraising strategies, and comprehensive strategic planning. The Associate Director will work closely with senior leadership to ensure the successful execution of organizational goals, foster a collaborative team environment, and elevate the overall impact of our mission. Duties

1. Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Strategic Plan Ownership: Direct the implementation of the 2024 Strategic Plan and Internal Audit recommendations.

2. Team Management & Program Oversight

  • Team Leader Supervision: Directly manage and coach Program Team Leaders, serving as their primary point of contact for programmatic, operational and budgetary questions.
  • Staff Development: Foster a culture of excellence and spiritual maturity, ensuring (along with Executive Director) that staff are cared for and professional development opportunities are met.
  • Inter-Departmental Coordination: Facilitate communication between the Fundraising Team (not yet formed), CCE Team, Resettlement (Welcome Homes), Immigrant Legal Services, and Operations / Bookkeeping to ensure mission fund development alignment.

3. Operational & Financial Stewardship

  • Operational Buffer: Manage the daily "operational approvals and responses" (payroll inquiries, facility needs, general admin) to protect the ED’s time for external relations.
  • Budget Management: Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring Team Leaders stay within their allocations and advising the ED on financial health.
  • Systems Management: Oversee the organizational use of tools like Aplos, Salesforce, Wix, etc. to ensure data integrity for donor tracking, fundraising, and financial reporting.

4. Fund Development Strategy

  • Major Gift Program: Assist with the development and launch of a formal Major Gifts and Planned Giving program, by serving on the Fundraising Team.
  • Grant Oversight: Manage the annual grant calendar, ensuring all applications and reports are high-quality and submitted on time.
  • Campaign Management: Assist the ED and Fundraising Team with the strategy for the Annual Campaign (Oct–Dec) and high-level donor stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Spiritual Alignment: A deep, active commitment to Jesus Christ and a heart for "the Stranger" (immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers).
  • Leadership Experience: At least 5+ years of management experience, preferably in a nonprofit leadership or Associate Director capacity.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to take a broad vision and translate it into a measurable, time-bound work plan.
  • Operational Fluency: Comfortable with nonprofit financial management, including budgeting, payroll processes, and donor CRM systems (Aplos experience a plus).
  • Communication: Exceptional professional communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive staff and donor situations with grace.
  • Cross-Cultural Competency: Prior experience in immigrant ministry or cross-cultural environments.
  • Operational Auditing: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all departments to ensure organizational consistency.
  • Organizational Growth: Assist the ED in setting and achieving annual organizational goals, moving from reactive tasks to proactive scaling.
  • Proven success in Fundraising activities: including grant writing and donor relations
  • Demonstrated Leadership: in senior management roles within educational or nonprofit settings
  • Public Speaking Skills: for engaging stakeholders at all levels
  • Leadership Qualities: that inspire collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

Pay: $48,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
