Job Description
As a key member of the Commercial (CML) team, the Associate Director, Business Development, serves as a strategic role that drives revenue growth by identifying, acquiring, and developing new business opportunities while managing and expanding relationships with existing customers to maximize sales volume, increase annual revenue, and promote adoption of new products and services.
New Business Acquisition & Account Growth-
Identify and qualify new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, cold outreach, networking, referrals, industry events, and digital research to build a robust pipeline of potential customers

Develop and execute targeted account acquisition strategies to convert prospects into active customers, consistently meeting or exceeding new business revenue targets

Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with existing key accounts to ensure high satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership

Conduct regular business reviews with existing customers to understand their evolving needs, uncover additional opportunities, and position new products, services, or solutions

Drive revenue growth within existing accounts by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, increasing product/service utilization, and expanding the scope of partnerships

Increase business with existing customers through education and demonstration of new products and services offered by the company

Achieve or exceed assigned annual revenue quota through a balanced mix of new business wins and expansion within existing accounts
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Sales Operations-
Work closely with the Proposals Team, as well as other MTA team members to ensure excellent customer experiences (i.e. consistent communication of customer needs, timely proposal responses, RFI submissions and financial terms, etc.)

Build relationships internally to support sales and marketing activities and execute collaborative approaches when appropriate, leading to increased sales opportunities

Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image at all times

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospect and customer interactions, opportunities, and forecasts in the CRM system

Track and record account activity within Account Plans to meet customer specific annual goals
Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement-
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer business challenges to position the company as a strategic partner and thought leader

Participate in trade shows, conferences, webinars, and other industry events to generate leads, strengthen brand presence, and build professional relationships

Provide recommendations for improvements of MTA security controls, when applicable

Support company-wide compliance efforts through timely completion of all mandatory security, policies and procedure training

Job RequirementsEducation, Knowledge & Training-
Bachelors degree in sales, marketing or business administration

Three to five (3-5) years’ experience as a sales professional in a business development or commercial team

Experience within the pharmaceutical and/or meeting planning industry preferred
-
Professional fluency in English
-
Multilingual preferred

Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
