The Associate Director of Marketing is a highly skilled content creator and project manager responsible for producing and sharing compelling marketing and social media content across all platforms. This role requires significant hands-on execution – including on-campus and off-campus photography, videography, social media management, and real-time content development. The Associate Director ensures marketing projects supporting Admissions and Advancement are delivered at a high standard and on schedule. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this position collaborates with cross-functional partners while independently owning a substantial workload of creative production, project management and campaign execution. This is a full-time, in-person role.
Essential Responsibilities
- Independently produce high-quality digital content, including social media posts, short-form videos, reels, stories, photography and written messaging across all platforms.
- Lead day-to-day ownership of social media channels, including content planning, real-time posting, audience engagement, analytics review and paid promotion strategy.
- Capture original photography and video at school events, during the school day, and at off-campus activities; maintain an organized media library. Stay current on school activities to source content across platforms.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute effective content marketing strategies that support the campaigns and goals of the Admissions and Advancement departments.
- Lead and maintain project management workflows for the department, ensuring visibility, clarity, and timely execution of all deliverables. Simultaneously manage a large volume of projects, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality.
- Write email messages, stories, newsletters, social media posts, web copy and other marketing content as needed.
- Create and send email newsletters, solicitations, event invitations and other communications.
- Perform intake meetings with project leads determining outcomes, timelines, deliverables and overall strategy.
- Manage relationships and communications with vendors, including processing invoices and project estimates.
- Collaborate with Director of Marketing & Communications, Associate Director of Communications and Multidisciplinary Graphic Designer to ensure brand assets and standards are followed.

- Proficient in copywriting, including writing and producing digital and print messages and materials that are persuasive, on brand, authentic and fresh.
- Skilled user of digital and social media platforms for creating and sharing dynamic messages with key audiences.
- Excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills to partner with others to make sound decisions and solve problems creatively and professionally.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, and ability to collaborate and coordinate across organizational boundaries.
- Proven ability to manage marketing vendors and partners (i.e., print vendors, advertising partners, videographers, photographers, etc.)
- Flexibility, sense of urgency, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Capacity to independently prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness and ability to attend events outside of normal business hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of experience in a busy marketing/communications department
- Previous experience managing marketing projects
- Demonstrated portfolio of photography, videography, and digital storytelling work.
- Proficiency in project management software
- Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Blackbaud, Finalsite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in education
- Understanding of the cycles of Admissions and/or Advancement cycles
- Experience with social media scheduling and management platforms
