Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Associate Attorney to join our small family oriented law firm. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently managing a diverse caseload from initial consultation through final resolution, possess excellent client relationship management, and have a deep commitment to guiding clients through sensitive and complex family law matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including but not limited to divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and property division.
  • Possess excellent negotiation skills and the ability to handle litigation matters effectively.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, provide clear legal advice, and manage client expectations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Draft legal documents including but not limited to pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, settlement agreements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, orders, subpoenas, and financial declarations.
  • Assist in negotiations on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes in disputes.
  • Prepare for and represent clients in court proceedings including motion hearings, temporary hearings, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials.
  • Manage accurate and timely records of all time spent on client matters.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the SC bar association is required.
  • Prior experience in a law office setting is preferred, with exposure to multiple areas of practice being advantageous.
  • Strong writing skills with a focus on legal drafting and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated experience in litigation or negotiation settings is highly valued.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
