Associate General Counsel

We are seeking a detail-oriented Attorney to join our Legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare law, ERISA compliance, and operational claims management. The Associate General Counsel will provide strategic legal counsel and will support a wide range of Company initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Support regulatory compliance efforts related to healthcare claims administration, including those related to ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and state insurance laws.
  • Support the Company’s customer and vendor contracting efforts from start-to-finish.
  • Draft, negotiate and review legal agreements, including provider agreements, NDAs, confidentiality agreements, independent contractor agreements, IT SaaS and professional services agreements, trademark license agreements, etc.
  • Draft and review group health plan documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on emerging regulatory issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure legal and operational alignment.
  • Monitor federal and state legislative developments affecting healthcare and benefits administration.
  • Represent the Company before federal and state regulatory authorities.
  • Respond to administrative complaints and information requests and represent the Company in such matters.
  • Participate in audits, investigations, and prepare responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor and draft updates to contracts required to comply with state and federal law, regulatory or health plan requirements.
  • Interpret and develop Company policies. Assists the Company with implementing existing and new programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Support legal department and corporate executives on special projects and other legal matters, as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned which may include and not limited to litigation support, responses to external requests for records, including liens, subpoenas, and regulatory complaints and inquiries, corporate governance, preparation and filing of corporate state filings, perform legal and related research and assist with corporate licensing.


Essential Qualifications

  • JD degree from an accredited law school and active state bar admission in good standing.
  • A minimum of three years' experience practicing law with a background in health care law, health insurance, or managed care.
  • Three or more years' experience successfully supporting contract negotiations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in PPACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other healthcare regulatory requirements is strongly preferred.
  • The successful candidate must be personable, collaborative, and self-motivated and have excellent analytical, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
