Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate General Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including estate planning, environmental law, and litigation. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to provide sound legal advice across multiple domains. The Associate General Counsel will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s legal needs while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on matters related to estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and tribal law & regulations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and provide accurate legal advice.
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, pleadings, and other relevant materials.
  • Assist in litigation processes by preparing necessary documentation and representing the organization in court as required.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of the organization while ensuring favorable terms.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address legal concerns and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation that may impact the organization’s operations.

Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in a law office setting with a focus on various areas of law mentioned above.
  • Strong writing skills with experience in legal drafting and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive legal research efficiently.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Prior experience handling litigation matters is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $93,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
