Associate General Counsel Position

General Job Description:

· Provide legal advice on a wide array of insurance-related issues, including underwriting, claims handling, reinsurance and regulatory compliance for a New York based national property casualty insurance group.

· Monitor and analyze changes in insurance regulations, case law, and industry trends to inform business practices and risk management.

· Manage corporate governance including Board of Directors activities, state compliance and internal operations.

· Preparation and submission of regulatory filings, applications, and general state by state compliance.

Required Qualifications

· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance law, with a strong focus on corporate and regulatory compliance

· Active bar admission (preferably New York State)

· Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

· Experience in a corporate legal department or insurance company

· Knowledge of Insurance law and regulatory processes

· Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Location

This role requires successful candidates to be based in-person at our office in Long Beach, New York.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $190,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
