Department Information
The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) protects and serves California consumers while ensuring a competent and fair marketplace. DCA educates consumers and protects professionals from unfair competition by unlicensed practitioners.
DCA is a unique and dynamic department consisting of 36 different boards, bureaus, a commission, and a program that license and regulate more than 3.4 million licensees in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits. The Medical Board of California's (MBC) mission is to protect health care consumers through the proper licensing and regulation of physicians and surgeons and certain allied health care professionals and through the vigorous, objective enforcement of the Medical Practice Act, and promote access to quality medical care through the Board's licensing and regulatory functions.
In this position you'll work with management and lead Associate Analysts, US/Canadian and international medical schools, postgraduate training program directors, professional associations, and consumers to determine if applicants meet statutory and regulatory requirements, resolve stakeholder issues, and provide them relevant information. The skills you build upon and/or develop in this position will provide you with an excellent foundation for future leadership and career growth opportunities.
MBC has temporarily adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. After an initial training period, this position may allow for some telework opportunities. All telework schedules are temporary, based on current conditions and will be re-evaluated as conditions change.
The MBC has FREE PARKING, is located next to the Royal Oaks Light Rail Station, is in close proximity to highways, shopping centers, and eateries.
